Managing Files 1 2 3 4 5 6
Scripts that organize or otherwise manipulate the actual files of tracks in the Finder.
Track Names to Filenames v2.6
Changes the filenames of the tracks in the selected Playlist (all of them or just selected) to their actual track names, with the option to prefix names with their track number such that "Song One" becomes "01.Song One", etcetera. Ensures all filenames end with the ".mp3" extension (no longer an option). See the screenshot for an example.
• This latest version should handle very large numbers of tracks much better, and prevents prefixing numbers to filenames if the "Library" is the selected Playlist.
• (Also see the version for SoundJam.)

Trash Duplicates v1.0.1
Select any two selected tracks in a playlist. If they are duplicate entries (that is, they each refer to the same file), one will be removed automatically. If you select two tracks which refer to different files that you think might be the same then the script will display a dialog showing various information about the two tracks, including the name of the song, the album (if available), the location, the file size, the duration, and the bit rate. You can sample the tracks, listening to the beginning, middle, and end of each. You then can trash one or the other of the tracks. This will move the chosen file to the trash and remove its entry from the playlist.
