Search Scripts

The "Search Scripts" form will search the names and the descriptions in the AppleScripts database for search terms of 4 or more characters separated by spaces. (For a search of three-character terms, try adding a space before or after the term, ie: "PDF ".) In addition, you can use the following modifiers:

  • "" [double-quote] A phrase that is enclosed within double quote characters (eg: "album artwork") matches the phrase literally, as it was typed.
  • + [plus sign] A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in the results.
  • - [minus sign] A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in the results.
  • > < These two operators are used to change a word's contribution to the relevance value that is assigned to the result. The > operator increases the contribution and the < operator decreases it
  • * [asterisk] An asterisk is a truncation operator. Unlike the other operators, it should be appended to the word.

Additionally, Safari and Shiira users will notice that the search text forms use Mac-centric widgets for clearing and maintaining recent search history. Currently, this is only available for those browsers.
