UPDATED: Media Folder Files Not Added v1.4
For macOS 10.15 Catalina or later. This application will list the file paths of the media files in your designated "Media" folder which are not associated with any tracks in the Music or TV app's' track library. Additionally, a different parent folder can be user-selected and its contents will be compared to the current library. Includes options to Export a text file listing the file paths, Filter within results, Add a selection of found files to Music or TV, and move them to the Trash. The latter two features are only available in the registered version.

This app is free to try in Demo Mode with some features restricted. If you like it you can purchase a code for $2.99 which will unlock the inhibited "Add", "Trash" and other features. Launch the app and click "Register…" in the its File menu to make an in-app purchase through PayPal.

NEW: Drop to Add and Give Info v4.0
For macOS 10.15 or later. Drag audio files to this script's main window to enter many common tags before the script adds the files to the Music app, after which your tag info will be applied to the new tracks. Additionally, tracks can be copied to a new or existing playlist. Stays open after each "add session" so that successive batches of tracks can be added.

NEW: Add PDF to Music or Books v1.0
You may be aware, or vaguely remember, that iTunes was able to manage PDF files. Sounds weird, I know. But early on, the iTunes Store provided extra album content as PDFs, so-called "digital booklets". Digital booklets went away but iTunes, and now the Music app, still support PDFs.
I got into a right regular habit of saving PDFs to iTunes. It was easy to categorize the plethora of them using the track tags that iTunes provided as a matter of course for all track entries. I've got instruction manuals, interesting news articles, notes, Wikipedia articles, VO scripts, email conversations, all kinds of stuff. When The Great Breakup happened, my PDFs were automatically moved to the Books app. That's fine, but Books doesn't allow tag editing, isn't AppleScriptable, and so on. I automatically assumed that PDF support was gone from Music, but it didn't occur to me until last week to even check.
I had created and maintained a set of scripts for managing PDFs in iTunes called PDF Adder. But the only script I regularly used from this collection was a PDF Service workflow that was accessible from the Print Dialog in any app. And so I've updated it for use with the Music app and the Books app.
Add PDF to Music or Books is an applet that must be installed in the [home]/Library/PDF Services/ folder. Once installed, it will appear as an option in the Print Dialog's PDF popup:
When selected, this panel will open and tag information can be added:
In this example, I've selected the Music app to receive the PDF. If Books had been selected, only the Title, Artist (Author) and Genre (Category) fields would be available since the Books app does not support the other tags.

NEW: Drop A Few My Way v5.0
For macOS 10.15 and later only. Drag and drop audio files to this droplet to have the Music app convert them with an encoder selected on the fly, restoring the Preferences-set encoder afterwards, and save them to a user-selected location. The converted files/tracks are removed from the Music app, as though it "never saw them". Includes option to delete the source audio files.

NEW: Track CPR v3.0
For macOS 10.15 and later only. This script will assist with re-associating replacement files with dead tracks. The Music app can perform this task, too, but only one track at a time.
The process takes 3 steps:
- The script finds and lists the "dead" tracks in the Music library
- User drag-and-drops potential replacement files to the window; a viable replacement file is one whose name, album and artist metadata matches a dead track's
- Re-associate viable replacement files with their matched track entries
The Read Me contains additional important details and cautions.

UPDATED: File Renamer v4.5
For macOS 10.15 Catalina and later only. This script will rename the files of the selected tracks (or the files of the tracks in the selected playlist) using a substitution pattern that you formulate from the tracks' tag data. Optionally, export a copy of the files to a chosen location and rename the files in that location.
Works optimally with "Keep Media folder organized" un-checked.

UPDATED: Find Empty Media Folders v2.1
For macOS 10.15 and later. This applet will traverse the Media folder looking for and displaying any sub-folders that are either empty or that do not contain Media-apps-playable media, such as text or image files.
Free to use in Demo Mode: While in Demo Mode, several convenient features will be disabled, including
- Show Finder Information Window
- Reveal in Finder
- Send to Trash
- Select all Empty/non-Empty
- Scan other user-selected folder

To purchase a registration code, download and launch the app. Click "Register..." in its File menu and follow the prompts to purchase a code for $2.99. When your payment is processed, you will be emailed a registration code that will unlock the Demo Mode restrictions.

For macOS 10.15 Catalina and later only. This script applet will convert a selection of files in the Finder using an encoder from the Music app. Converted files can be saved to a user-selected location and will be removed from the Music app after the process...as though it "never saw them". Includes options to create a "Converted" subfolder and delete source files.
This script is intended to replace an older script droplet called Drop A Few My Way. I just wasn't able to get the droplet action to swing the way I wanted. So I scrapped the dropping and went with the selecting.
I use this in the Finder toolbar so I can quickly convert files in the front Finder window.

This script will let you change the Finder tags of the selected tracks' files and/or each one's containing folder. Some users find this assistive when gathering files for use outside the Music or TV apps, Smart searches and so on.
